What a day...
What a great first day of school! As you can imagine, Room 9 is a flurry of activity. Students are becoming more comfortable in their new learning environment and are enjoying getting to know one another. We are beginning to think about our “Hopes and Dreams” and are looking forward to a challenging, fun filled year.
A few things to remember:
As your child returns home from school, please keep in mind that, for some, making the transition from a 1/2 day of school to a full day of school can be very tiring. Usually children do fine in school, but are instantly exhausted when they walk in the door at home. This is to be expected with such a busy and exciting day.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s transition to Pre-1st, please do not hesitate to contact me ([email protected]). I am excited about the year ahead and look forward to working with you to make your child’s Pre-1st experience a smooth and enjoyable one.

A few things to remember:
- Please be sure to pack a healthy snack and drink for your child everyday. Children will have the option of both an AM and PM snack. Please do not put snack in their lunch box. We don’t want anyone eating his or her lunch during snack time by mistake.
- Have your child bring their “Home & School” folder to school everyday. This will help your child stay organized and ensures that parent/teacher communications do not get lost in the shuffle.
- Wellness is on Monday & P.E. is on Friday – please have your child wear sneakers to school. Library is on Tuesday - don't forget your book.
- Remember that all dismissal changes need to be in writing. If possible, please try to limit dismissal changes during the first few weeks of school. Lots of changes can be confusing to the children.
